Apply in good time! -
Getting a student visa may take time. Make sure your application is complete.
For studying in Germany you need a student visa and getting
one can take up to two months. The student visa is initially granted for three
months. It will be extended by the Foreigners' Registration Office (Auslandsamt)
for one year at a time until the completion of your studies. Here is a list of
the requirements for application. Please check at the website of the German
Embassy for any changes.
Checklist for visa application
- Two complete sets of application forms
- Application fee (INR 1,100)
- Copy of the admission letter (Zulassungsbescheid) from the selected University
- Original degree certificates
- Financial proof (approx. INR 350,000)
- Health Certificate (recent medical check-up, x-ray)
