Month	Action
December	Start collecting information from DAAD, Internet, brochures etc. Attend counselling sessions.
Jan-March	Contact the selected university directly! Application forms and other relevant material can be downloaded from the web.
March-June	Check the application deadline for the courses chosen. Send the application form and other documents required for admission to the selected university or to assist. Make sure you have a valid passport. ( For more information on assist please look up our "News" section. )
July	Apply for a student visa as soon as you have the admission letter of your University. The German Embassy and the Consulates require proof of sufficient funding for the first year of study (approx. INR 350,000).
Sep-Oct	Make sure you arrive in Germany at least one week before the course starts. Contact the International Office (Akademisches Auslandsamt, abbrev. AAA) for guidance.
Oct-Dec	Get your residence permit within the first three months of your stay in Germany at the Foreigners' Registration Office (Auslaenderamt).
